Setting a Thumbnail Image
You can customize the thumbnail image for any material type - Video, Image, Web Link, PDF, and EPUB.
When editing a material, go to the top-right of the Details tab. Click Edit to change the thumbnail image.
To edit or upload a thumbnail image for any material type, select Edit.
You can resize and reposition your thumbnail image from this window. Or, click Replace to add your own.
For videos, you can choose any frame of the video as a thumbnail image. Click Select Frame from Video.
When choosing a video frame, use the blue slider to select a Thumbnail image, then click Save.
To see how your thumbnail images look on the Learn side, Preview your topic by clicking on the three dots in the top-right of the Topic page.
Trimming Learning Material
You can trim the length of a video directly in Honor Create. In the asset editor, navigate to Length under Material Options.
Use the blue sliders to select the start- and end-times for your video asset.
You can also trim PDF’s and EPUBs by selecting Sections from the asset editor.
Select the sections you want your learners to have access to, then click Save.
Adding Commentary
For detailed information on Text and Audio Commentary, see this article.
First, click either the Text or Audio Commentary icon at the bottom of the material (highlighted in red below). Then select the block of text or the location in your material where you’d like to leave Commentary.
Leave your text or audio Commentary and click Save.
On videos and readings, you can leave as much Commentary throughout your learning material as you want.
On Images and Web Links, you can leave one piece of Commentary.
By clicking Commentary in the Details Sidebar, you can view the Commentary you’ve left.
Click the menu in the top right of a piece of Commentary to edit it, hide it, or delete it.
Additional Options
Click Additional Options to display the remaining customization options for your learning material.
Here, you can select whether your learners can download the piece of learning material. This is recommended only for hand-outs and reference materials. For the main course content, it’s best to keep your students in Honor Learn so that they benefit from your Commentary and each others’ shared engagement.
Depending on the type of material, here you can also Delete, Duplicate, and Move your learning material.
